Is it love? I think so! My first time getting the FabFitFun Box and I'm hooked! Out of all the products, there was only one that I was indifferent about- and several I was immediately in love with. For those of you that can't watch the video or don't want to: This was my first FFF box and I wasn't sure what I was going to think of it. I didn't cheat and look to see what was in it before it came, either! This box retails for around $390 and for the purchase price of $49.99 (I made an error in my video. I thought the price of the box is normally $70.) it was totally worth it. My box had: BB Dakota poncho- LOVE IT. It's super soft and feels like alpaca or cashmere but is a synthetic blend. It's super cozy and warm and I've been sporting it around the house every day since I got it. In the video, I say it's like a snuggie but not lame! I'm not a poncho girl per se- but I did need one for traveling. I explain in my video that I often take a hoodie on planes when I travel and I hate it because I get hot, then cold, and I feel like I'm that jerk that's always bumping the person next to me fussing with my hoodie. This solves my problem because it's warm but not hot and if I get too warm, I can just slide it off or move the arms a bit. The company shows it styled with a belt, but I'm not a belt person. I have almost no torso and big boobs and butt- I feel like a belt just says- "Look at Christina's giant ass, guys!" And that's not what I'm going for. So... it's a snuggie for me. End of story. I love the color. (Mine is charcoal gray) and I don't need more than one- this one fits all the needs I can have and adds a bit of trend to my fashion without being obnoxious. The staple color is perfect for my taste. It's a keeper! Pointe Studio aloe infused socks- SOOOOOO fluffy and soft. I go on to explain that I have stinky, sweaty feet. I have slippers but I never wear them because it's easier to just wear and wash socks. So when it's chilly, it's socks for me. These are the most comfy socks I've ever seen, and I immediately ordered a bunch more. Mine were three shades of gray, and match my poncho! I love you a latte pink mug- Super cute, slightly oversized mug with large handle- perfect for sliding 4 fingers through and cupping a hot mug of soup or cocoa in. This was one I liked, but was slightly indifferent about because I have a million mugs! But this one is cute and will probably stay in my office to be on coffee duty. Ahava Mineral Hand Cream- This was one of my favorite products. Super sized tube of perfect intensity scented lotion that is both guy and girl friendly. The scent is kind of like saltwater, kind of mineraly. The cream goes on and initially feels a little waxy but immediately absorbs into skin and is just amazing. I comment that I want to pass it on to DaddyGyver- as he has very dry skin and can use something super moisturizing- I'm sure he will add his review as well. I'm so thrilled I got this, and I love it!!! I love how it absorbs so quickly and isn't greasy at all or overly flowery or perfumey. You can get some HERE. Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Treatment- I haven't tried this yet, as I'm trying to get through another product before using this one, but I noted that I was excited to try it- it doesn't smell pharmaceutical or medicinal, rather kind of woody and like cinnamon bark. I noted it smelled a little like Christmas to me. I talk about the fact that I exfoliate a couple times a week because experts say that exfoliation not only removes dead skin and impurities but stimulates blood flow and helps regenerate skin. (says the experts, not me) I'm 37 and not only do I battle aging skin but I've lost a bit of weight and my dermatologist recommended gentle exfoliation to push my skin to retain elasticity and regeneration. (I don't want it to sag because of weight loss!) I'm excited to try it, as I've heard good things about Kate's products. Get it HERE!
This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray- It claims to have lavender, chamomile, and vetiver as the fragrance, but to me it smelled a little more woody- maybe like it had sandalwood or some other earthy smelling base rather than just floral- though I could smell the lavender. The smell was balanced and warm. I personally do not use pillow sprays as common practice because I hardly sleep and when I do, I kind of just pass out! BUT I have been using this with my 18 month old son who doesn't sleep through the night yet and I do notice that he snuggles deeper into his pillow, sniffs it, and I do believe it comforts him a bit. I always had sprayed his pillow with lavender, so this product fits right in and is a warm and welcome option to add to his nursery. Get yours HERE. Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow Pro Palette (smokey)-I am a fan of Doucce and this palette. I have a smaller quad palette that I got in another box and I had already liked the brand. First, their palettes are all magnetic and plastic. You put the colors you want to carry into the palette. It's great for traveling and minimizing the amount of makeup you have to carry with you. The shadows are silky powdery and can be used wet or dry. I feel like they go on smoothly without too much powder loss and they don't gather or move into your eye creases. The brand isn't overly expensive, with the palette of 8 shadows and a bronzer/highlighter for $50- you can get replacement shadows on Amazon for $9.99. Not bad. This is my go to palette to take in my gym bag or purse. Get the same palette I did HERE. 8 Other Reasons 9 Lives Choker- I wasn't a fan of this. For the retail price of $58, I felt that this was chintzier than it should me. It's expensive costume jewelry that came on a postcard in a cello film wrapper. There was no implied value here. A step up from Claire's quality, I felt like this was added to the box hastily and there would be no detriment to have left it out completely. I got the silver toned one, and I like silver, but the micro ball chain made me think of key chain. The necklace was 18" fully extended and I feel like if it could drop to 21", it would add a sexy mid-cleavage look that would be perfect for a low cut dress on NYE. But they failed on this one with me. Grace & Stella Anti-Wrinkle + Energizing Eye Masks- I can't wait to try these. I use eye masks like these twice a week and any new brand is a welcome brand to try! These claim to be collagen and mineral infused to combat puffy eyes and regenerate/energize the skin around the eyes. Always a fan of these type of soothing eye pads, this is a welcome value added to my box. All in all, this box was TOTALLY worth it. Not disappointed in any way, I am excited to get the next box! I talk in the video about the joy of subscription boxes because it gives us the ability to give ourselves a present either monthly or quarterly (as this is a seasonal box) and the surprise factor is exciting. I love the idea of loving yourself and giving yourself a nice treat. This box was the epitome of "Love yourself, Christina" and reminded me to sit back, prop your feet up, snuggle in with a cup of cocoa... and relax.
