Dodge Ram 1500 and Jeep Cherokee Lawsuit
In the last year, there has been much press about the allegation that Fiat Chrysler used "undisclosed software" in its 2014-2016 model year Dodge Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee Models. This unnamed software is accused of allowing the vehicles to cheat emissions testing to get a passing grade- while the vehicles were still emitting illegal levels in real-world driving conditions. The 2017 filing by the Department of Justice includes a EPA violation notice that indicates Fiat Chrysler may owe fines for the approximately 104,000- fines that could amount to $4.6 billion. Now, the consumer class action portion has begun and the attorneys involved are looking to talk to anyone that had purchased one of these vehicles. The parties that purchased one of these vehicles may have: -Paid extra for a "cleaner" vehicle- only to learn their vehicle might not be as clean as they were led to believe. -Seen a large depreciation of their vehicle due to the newly discovered "cheat" software. -Been unable to trade or sell at all- or do so for far less than would be expected- due to the undisclosed software controversy.
