Raising Money for the Kids

Those of you out there that are LuLaRoe alum- you might remember a woman named Brandy in customer service. She was probably THE most loved rep there. Ask anyone that interacted with her, and they will gladly tell you stories about how Brandy made their day better by taking a few minutes extra to chat, or to try and find an answer to their problem. She was a kind, caring voice on the other end of the phone. We all loved her. Then suddenly, Brandy wasn't there any longer. Many of us reached out to her after she left, some of us became friends with her. I'm very proud to call her my friend. The woman is as caring in real life as she was on the LuLaRoe help line- and she's all about the caring again. There is a school in New Jersey that was just in the media. The principal had taken an old locker room and added some washing machines and dryers for the kids to be able to wash their own clothes. It seems odd, right? Why would kids need to bring laundry to their school? Well, in this situation, many of these children don't have access to clean clothing. Their families are not able to pay for cleaning supplies, or sometimes the parents just aren't there. These teens are being forced to go to school filthy or not go at all, and it's hurting them academically as well as physically. This kind and caring principal saw the pattern, and decided to try and help these kids fight absenteeism and bullying with access to unworn school shirts and the washing machines. Here's a link to one of the articles covering the story. Brandy has decided to champion the need for cleaning supplies for these children and has taken up a collection to bring the school some much needed laundry soap. You know MG loves a good heartwarming story, and in this case, it's one of our own out there doing good for others. I thought Brandy could use a little help in her efforts. If you'd like to donate to her fundraising efforts, please paypal your donation to Brandy at: brandy.camille@gmail.com and in the notes, let her know it's for the kids in Newark. If you want to speak with her first, she has her post set to public so it can be shared. You can see it HERE. It's nice to see the lady that was so helpful to so many of us trying to continue to give to other people. It's in her nature and I'd like to see the MG community rally around someone that was so important to the few positive moments we had in an otherwise bad experience, and help her make an impact for these kids. It's a great way for us to say thank you to Brandy for all she did for us too. She lives to give to others, and I know she will be forever moved by every donation she can convert into help for these need kids. We all deserve clean clothing.

Every dollar counts. Thanks for sharing the love!
