BoxyCharm and BoxyLuxe
(Contains affiliate links) Mama mia, I love makeup. I love skincare. I love all of it. I get every single subscription box you can imagine. Some months, it seems like I hate them all and other months, they know what I like and nail it. One that's been really consistently on for me is BoxyCharm (the standard monthly subscription) and (BoxyLuxe- the steroid infused offering once every three months) BoxyCharm has never disappointed me. Once in a while, there will be a single product that I'm not as excited to get as others. I also notice that throughout all the subscription services, the samples and products repeat themselves. Just ask Ciate and Tarte how many of their eyeliners and and lip glosses I have... in the same colors. (Literally 5 identical Ciate liners... stop sending me Ciate for at least 6 months, ALL OF YOU!) If I get something I can't use, I give it away. My Nana loves BB cream and peach/pink blush, dry shampoo, and wave treatment. She's 82 years old and loves products. I love to share with her, so it's never money wasted. If not Nana, my MIL. If not her, well... I've got a pile of goodies I'm waiting to raffle off to some readers. (In the case of Ciate, I won't lie- I hoard them because I use black eyeliner like water. But seriously- set for 6 months at least.) Boxy is great because like FabFitFun, you're getting full sized products. It gives me more time to play with the product before I decide if I love it. With skin and haircare- the ability to use it for more than a week is really important to gauge results. In the last BoxyLuxe, I got a full sized It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream (I've reviewed it before and you know I love it) that retails for $48 by itself. (The Luxe shipment prior gave me a jar of Elemis cream that I am also in love with- retails for over $50) A Morphe palette I was dying to have (The shipment before was an amazing bronze themed Tarte palette) and use almost every day. These are truly full size products and it's like Christmas for me when the boxes arrive. BoxyCharm is smaller than BoxyLuxe. Here's an image of what came in the standard BoxyCharm for March:
Now let me explain- if you get BoxyCharm, you will always get a shipment- once a month, they will look similar to this size. You can only get BoxyLuxe if you subscribe as a monthly Charmer. Every third month, you pay $20-something more and get the big-ass box. If you don't upgrade to Luxe, no biggie.
The big box replaces your standard shipment for that month. My website was down when my Luxe box came for March and I didn't think of taking photos- but it was really awesome. I borrowed this image from @shan_attack 's Insta account because her shipment was identical to mine:
I am going to review these products on their own eventually. (It cosmetics cream review HERE) I was really happy when I got this box and it sealed the deal that I'm going to stay with Boxy for a while. I do have some complaints about Boxy though. Their customer service is non-existent. I was missing a product in one of my boxes a while back and I had to nearly stalk customer service before they responded to me. In fact, I did notice that an item in (not March, the Luxe box prior) my last Luxe shipment was missing just about a week ago. I hadn't compared the shipment to other influencers until just then. That's when I realized I was supposed to get a mini straightener in my box too. So far, customer service has not responded. That's a problem for me. On the bright side, missing the straightner didn't change my opinion of the box or its value to me. So hopefully that speaks to the true value of the program. All in all, it's got issues with customer service, but for now, that's the only issue I've seen with this program. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Want to give it a try?
